Welcome to Canyon Ridge Labs

Hello Everyone,

I appreciate your visit to my newly formed site. I am still adding things as I run across them. My name is Kim and I have been involved in dogs since I was a teenager (well over 30 years.) I love the lab breed. My mom got me a year old black lab named Buck and he was my pride and joy. I started him in the YMCA dog obedience classes and found my passion with training dogs. Buck was a smart boy, learned quick and drew a crowd where ever he went.

My Mom's step sons would take Buck to troll for girls and it worked! He was glossy black with a great sense of humor, tail constantly wagging. He was alot of fun and lived a long long time. My Mom fed him fresh juice every morning and it kepts his coat shiny black.

I have raised American labs for a number of years. I was involved in the field trial circuit. Now that my time is compressed, I decided to try and English lab and see what the differences were. The first difference I noticed was the mellower temperment and calm, thoughtful disposition. That sold me. He is also very short. He doesn't have the lanky appearance as the trial dogs.

Bo is a wonderful dog, easy to train. He is constantly wagging that tail of his. He says hello with his deep brown eyes. He is a constant joy in my life. He is only a year old now. I will wait until he is 2 so I can get all the genetic clearances done - his hips and eyes. Once I find out he is fine, I will be breeding him to a yellow female. The boy may throw yellow pups and I want to see if that will happen.

My dog came from Coldwater Labs in Harrisonburg VA. Alayne is the breeder. She is an amazing lady. She takes great care in selecting which dogs will be breed. She is an ace at matching pups with the owners. Bo fits me to a tee. Her dogs are good looking, have sweet, kind temperments and are a joy to be around. Many of her dog owners have purchased seconds and thirds. She is a wonderful person. I will be buying a few more from her as my needs change and grow.
